The King is not dead, He is ALIVE

Today is Michael Jackson's funeral and I have read several times this sentance: The King is dead, long live the King. People are shouting "Long live the King" at his service and frankly, I am a little insulted by the capitalization of the word king.

My heart wants to scream, "the King, the REAL KING, is not dead. He is Alive, so is His WORD."
It does make me wonder if He was walking around the Earth with skin on and died today the same death He died so many years ago if people would fill the Staples Center for Him? If HIS people would shout "Long live the ONE AND ONLY KING"? Would you be there? Would you be proud to be one of HIS people?

Simply put: He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' Luke 24:6-7

If the world makes this big of a deal out of the dealth of the "king of pop", just think how big of a deal the dealth of the King of LIFE was and is.

Have no fear - He is Alive and He is my King, the ONE AND ONLY!

Sweet Jesus, may you and only you forever and always be my one and only KING! Amen
